Board of Health closes hearing on property violations without further action

HULL — The Hull Board of Health closed a formal hearing on alleged violations at 62 Whitehead Avenue without ordering further town action. Chris Tartaglione requested a final inspection, claiming the property was operating illegally as a rooming house with an unapproved basement unit and that a Certificate of Occupancy application was fraudulently submitted. Director Rachel Gerold testified that the department had inspected in conjunction with the Building Commissioner and that Town Counsel had characterized the matter as a private civil dispute; the Board voted unanimously to accept this conclusion and send Tartaglione a letter confirming no further action.
In separate business, the Board unanimously authorized Director Gerold to survey which Hull businesses sell kratom products, with Chair Jennifer Butler-Rickard indicating interest in banning sales and capping smoke shop licenses at two.
