Hull Redevelopment Authority splits over selling waterfront land for housing. The board unanimously approved a $10,304.25 warrant and rescheduled the town's 250th anniversary fireworks to August 14 after smoke from Canadian wildfires canceled the July date. But more than two hours of debate over survey results on the HRA's 13-acre waterfront property produced no consensus.

Board member Dan Kernan said "you don't start by doing exactly what the citizens said not to do," while newer member Charlie called a Fifth Street parking lot "the golden goose" that could generate $5 million to $8 million for open-space funding. Member Ann Murray countered it "doesn't make any more sense to build more in a flood zone." No consultant was hired; the board plans to review survey raw data and property maps at its August 10 meeting.
