Light Board adopts new solar net metering rate structure effective April 1

HULL — The Hull Municipal Light Board approved a revised solar net metering rate structure with a $2 per kilowatt installed capacity charge and 75 percent retail rate credit for excess energy. Chair Thomas Burns, a solar customer, recused himself; Vice-Chair Patrick Cannon presided over the public hearing, and the rate passed 4-0 for implementation April 1. The new structure sets a $19.54 minimum monthly bill and extends annual credit carryover through March 31, replacing the prior December 31 expiration.
The Board also designated Operations Manager Mike Schmitt as principal voting representative to MMWEC and the Massachusetts Utility Self-Insurance Trust Fund, and discussed capital projects including bucket truck delivery and battery storage site evaluation.
