HULL — The Hull Planning Board voted 4-2 to reject a proposed modification allowing short-term rentals at 120 Nantasket Avenue, maintaining the existing one-month minimum lease requirement on concerns the change could alter the property's character and set a precedent. Property owner Jonathan Leavitt had sought to accommodate buyer interest in leases shorter than 30 days. In separate action, the board voted 5-1 to transmit the Planning Board Subcommittee's critical comments on a Metropolitan Area Planning Council Master Plan Phase I report to MAPC, the Steering Committee, and the public.

Vice Chair Abby Rose Klieman argued that $90,000 in taxpayer spending on MAPC's work was insufficient, while Town Manager Jennifer Constable cautioned against disparaging the consultant. Board Clerk Lisa French announced her resignation.
