Zoning Bylaw Committee backs three of four town meeting amendments

HULL — The Zoning Bylaw Committee recommended favorable action on three of four proposed zoning amendments for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Chair Susan Short Green presided over votes on the nonconforming uses "5-15 rule" amendment, which passed 4-1; the addition of museums as a permitted use in Commercial Recreation A, B, and C districts, which passed unanimously; and the NBOD design standards amendment, which passed 4-1 despite mixed Zoning Board of Appeals support. The Committee declined to vote on the Flexible Plan Development amendment, citing incomplete language and concerns over a proposed 40-foot height cap and consistency with surrounding zoning; deliberation will resume after the Planning Board hearing.
