HULL — The Hull Redevelopment Authority agreed to draft a request for proposals for its waterfront land and invite Wildlands Trust President Karen Gray to its Aug. 31 meeting, as members remained split over housing versus open space on 13 acres. Chair Bartley Kelly said "the highest and best use is housing" on outlying parcels, while members Ann Murray and Dan Kernan pushed back, saying a design firm should evaluate the land holistically before any parcel is designated for development. Treasurer Joan Senator reported the authority holds approximately $2,229,284.95 across its accounts.
The board separately voted 5-0 to let the town's 250th Anniversary Committee use Lot B for free resident and staff parking during Friday's fireworks, waiving the usual fee, and approved a $17,613.03 warrant covering legal fees and police details. Resident Dan Sullivan called the HRA's 2025 land-use survey "the most prejudicial survey I've ever done in my life," a characterization counsel Mark Hammond disputed, saying the firm was selected competitively and the survey was designed to avoid bias.
