School Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026

Hull School Committee finalizes three policies and details new principal's transition plan. Filling in for Chair Kyle Conley, who was out of town, the committee unanimously adopted final or third-read versions of the JICI cellphone policy, the IJNDD staff communications policy and the ACL Protect Act policy in a single vote. Superintendent Jett outlined a 12-point plan for incoming Hull High School Principal Ellen Murray, who starts November 9 after former Principal Shaw's August resignation; Murray told the committee "my door is always open." Resident Irwin used public comment to propose a memorial bench for a dead tree honoring two boys killed in an accident, pledging $100 toward it.

Six subcommittees reported out, including Facilities, which flagged a possible phone-system upgrade after the cellphone ban increased parent calls to school offices. The committee tabled naming a delegate to the state association's November 6 assembly and adjourned at 7:16 p.m., unanimously, in what members called the "quickest meeting ever."
