HULL — The Hull Redevelopment Authority board remained divided over designating open space on its waterfront parcel after a lengthy presentation from Wildlands Trust President Karen Gray. Gray described a $400,000, privately funded master plan that helped Brockton's Field Park draw more than $2 million in grants, calling such projects "10 years, scalable projects, or really nothing at all." Board members Dan and Ann pushed back on Chair Bart's view that parcels should be reserved for revenue generation to offset costs like an estimated $80 million public safety building, with Dan asking why the board would carve off land "before we do the planning process and work with the partners." Kelly Cromey, president of a new nonprofit, presented a concept rendering that drew objections for assuming certain parcels were already developable. No vote was taken on open space; the board did vote unanimously to adjourn at 10:20 p.m., after authorizing staff to draft an off-season vendor licensing RFP.
