Hull Conservation Commission sets a two-week erosion deadline, faces FEMA map backlash. Commissioners warned the owner of a 246 Nantasket Road property that it may pursue fines if a conceptual stabilization plan for ongoing coastal bank erosion, near a water main and fire hydrant, isn't submitted within two weeks. Commissioner Sam Campbell said the owner needs "a really firm message," not another status update.
Separately, resident Lisa French pressed the commission over a FEMA flood map revision, saying "we have a right to know how it happened," prompting the chair to pledge action "in the next few weeks." The board also unanimously approved a negative determination for deck repairs at 830 Nantasket Ave., continued a 1150 Nantasket Ave. hearing to October 13, and authorized withdrawal of an order of conditions for town pedestrian path maintenance. A long-running dispute over a failed town-owned coastal structure at 51 Harborview Road remains before the state on a superseding order of conditions.
