Hull Planning Board Unanimously Votes Into Closed Session on Nantasket Avenue Appeal

HULL — July 8, 2026 — Hull Planning Board enters executive session on Nantasket Avenue permitting appeal. The board convened by Zoom on July 8 for a brief open session before voting unanimously — 5 to 0 — to close to the public to discuss litigation strategy on a permitting appeal involving properties at 839, 843, and 845 Nantasket Avenue, citing MGL Chapter 30A, Section 21A(3). Chair Meghan Reilly said the session's compressed schedule was driven by town counsel Brian Winner's availability, as he was simultaneously attending a Select Board meeting. The board also unanimously approved its May 14 minutes after a pointed exchange about format, with Clerk Lisa French arguing the drafts read "almost like a transcription" and Member Nathan Peyton calling for explicit action items to be stated aloud at the close of each agenda discussion. The board did not reconvene after the executive session, leaving master plan phase two and a goals prioritization review to future meetings, and two additional sets of minutes remain unapproved.
