HULL -- June 10, 2026, Hull Planning Board defers reorganization and begins building a zoning amendment slate for Zoning Bylaw Committee referral. Meeting Wednesday with only three of five members present, Chair Megan Riley, Shandell Schulte, and Nancy Boyce, with Abby Cleman absent due to a family emergency, the board agreed to hold off on officer elections and committee assignments until a full quorum is available, likely at the June 24 session. Member Lisa French presented roughly eight proposed zoning bylaw amendments for future study, ranging from clarifying definitions of "building" and "deck" to potentially rezoning Straits Pond Island and the Hull Redevelopment Authority parcel as public open space, and revisiting a vacant commercial properties bylaw that sunsetted in 2023. Staff described the master plan's two-phase budget at approximately $90,000 per phase, with phase two supported in part by a Metropolitan Area Planning Council Technical Assistance Program grant. No minutes were approved after French flagged multiple corrections to both the April 22 and May 14 drafts. The board is targeting a joint kickoff meeting with the Zoning Bylaw Committee and potentially the Design Review Board for late July or August.
