Hull School Committee Approves Nature's Classroom Trip and New Academic Calendar

HULL -- January 12, 2026, Hull School Committee unanimously approved a sixth-grade overnight field trip and the 2026-2027 school calendar at its January 12 meeting. Grade 6 science teacher Heather Weber presented the Nature's Classroom program, a three-day stay at the Hilltop site in Charlton, Massachusetts, running June 8-10, describing it as the district's fifth consecutive year attending the program, which blends outdoor science, teamwork, and a no-phones policy. The committee approved the 2026-2027 academic calendar with a September 2 student start date and a projected June 17 final day, with Superintendent Dr. Michael Jetty noting that a single snow cancellation would push the year past Juneteenth into the week of June 21. Dr. Jetty also announced plans to recruit up to five international exchange students for the coming school year, the first such program in recent district memory, with the Project Humanitarian International club tapped to help welcome arrivals.
