Select Board · Meeting of October 28, 2026

Hull Select Board kept a single tax rate and clashed over a $17 million facility question. The board voted unanimously to set the fiscal 2027 residential factor at one, maintaining Hull's single tax rate at $10.30 per $1,000 and declining both a residential and small-business exemption, per Assistant Assessor Mackenzie MacCune's recommendation. The average single-family tax bill rises to $8,029.

Separately, the board split roughly 3-2 to keep funding a Coastal Zone Management-backed study for a joint DPW/HMLP facility, with Vice Chair Jerry Taverna and Clerk Susan Short Green opposed; consultants estimate a combined building would save $17 million over separate structures. Member Greg Grey said, "We are not spending money on a building. We are getting plans." The board also seated seven members and three alternates to a revived Parking Management Advisory Committee and voted 4-0, with one abstention, to send $73,000 to the Hull Community Housing Trust Fund.
